Bronze is an alloy of copper and tin. It can be cleaned with a brush or sponge with mild soapy water. It should be carefully dried and can be polished with a dry cloth. Keep in mind that some bronze is lacquered and care must be used not to "clean off" the lacquer.

Sometimes bronze can develop rough, green spots. This usually develops in a damp environment and is caused by chlorides and oxygen. If this occurs, consult an expert.
